Analog x Digital Collaboration - Imagination USA

Yuki was commissioned by Imagination USA based in New York, to produce 5 artworks which would be used in the corporate brochure for the former Lehman Brothers. At the same time, this was a collaboration in its truest sense; bringing the 'analog' aspect of art and the 'digital' aspect of graphic design to present a single message.

The brochure was a communication instrument intended for Asia by a US based company, thus the concept of the project was to "respect tradition". Yuki's representational images are inspired by ancient hieroglyphs from China and they were conveyed in a traditional calligraphic manner; the series titled Ji-Sho-Ji-Ga (the word as a figure, the word as art).

The only parts of the world where 'hieroglyphs' are still preserved in modern everyday life are in countries that continue to use Kanji characters.
